Today I'm going to use this space to talk about a topic that bothers me a lot: generalization . Since we were children, we are fed by some concepts that we interpret as a maxim and carry with us for the rest of our lives. In some cases, generalization does not cause many problems, but in others it can cause injustice, hatred and suffering.
Who has never used a generalization in at least one Special Data joke? Who has never generalized a person's character and realized that they committed an injustice? Certainly, several situations are running through our heads right now. Well, how about we reflect on this a little?
We are living through a complicated time in Brazil, with an economic and political crisis, Brazilians' emotions are heightened and social networks are full of generalizations filled with feelings of contempt and hatred. To illustrate, not everyone on the left is a “PTist” and not everyone against the government supports opposition politicians. Each person thinks in their own way and there are not just two ways of thinking about politics and social and economic issues.
Leaving the field of politics and moving to the area of relationships, I want to defend men here. Not all of us are naughty, women. Just like women are not interested. Some people let generalization interfere with their present relationships and impede future ones. These people tend to be suspicious and insecure, characteristics that destroy any relationship.
Generalization can be found on various topics, from the simplest, such as food and sport, to complex ones, such as drug legalization and abortion. People need to be heard before any judgment of character, for better coexistence in society, family and other relationships. We need to listen, read and research before expressing our opinion on a subject.
